The belt line drive wheel is a roller that directly receives the torque transmitted by the motor drive system and drives the belt to move.

The drive wheel drives the Flat Top Conveyor Belt by friction with the inside of the conveyor belt. The axle of the belt line drive wheel and the hub are generally fixed, and the axle is coupled with the output shaft of the motor drive system (key connection, keyless connection or direct use of the coupling).

The belt line driven wheel does not directly transmit power, only plays the role of structural support and changing the direction of the belt line. It moves along with the belt line, so it is also called the follower wheel and the reverse wheel.

In terms of structure, the belt line driven wheel can be made into a shaft (connected to the bracket), the hub and the shaft are connected by bearings, and the shaft and the hub can be freely rotated; or the shaft and the hub can be connected into one body. And the shaft and the bracket are connected by bearings to a structure similar to the driving wheel.

Among them, the former method is more conducive to reducing the moment of inertia of the entire system, and is suitable for use in a large and complicated transportation line. The latter method, because it is almost the same as the belt line driving wheel structure, has the advantage of simple design and manufacture. For the belt line in the electronic industry automation equipment, because the belt is thin and the workpiece weight is small, the moment of inertia is generally not a problem. So it can be used.
